Privacy Policy

Futurologist.io ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. Plain language, no legalese.
What we collect
- Email address when you subscribe to our newsletter (via Beehiiv) or join a waitlist.
- Form submissions from our sponsor application page (via Formspree): name, email, company, website, role, budget, slot preference, product description.
- Analytics data from your visit: pages viewed, referrer, approximate location (country/region), device type, browser, time on page (via Google Analytics 4).
- IP address incidentally, processed by our hosting provider (Vercel) for security and routing.
How we use it
- To deliver our weekly newsletter to subscribers.
- To respond to sponsor applications and partnership inquiries.
- To understand site traffic and improve content and design.
- To prevent abuse, spam, and fraudulent activity.
- To send transactional emails related to products you've ordered (future, once supplements launch).
Third-party services
We use the following third parties to operate this site. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Beehiiv — Newsletter platform. Stores subscriber emails, manages opt-in/out, sends issues.
- Formspree — Sponsor form backend. Processes form submissions and forwards them to us.
- Google Analytics 4 — Site analytics. Uses cookies and tracks behavior in aggregate.
- Vercel — Hosting. Logs request metadata for performance and security.
- Stripe — Payment processing (will be enabled when our supplement line launches).
Cookies
Google Analytics 4 sets cookies (_ga, _gid) to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. These cookies do not personally identify you to us. You can block cookies in your browser settings without breaking the site.
We do not use advertising cookies. We do not sell your data.
Email communications
If you subscribe to our newsletter, you opted in. Every issue includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom — one click and you're out. We don't sell, rent, or share your email with third parties for marketing.
Data retention
We keep your email in our newsletter list until you unsubscribe. Form submissions are retained for our records and contact follow-up. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics defaults (currently 14 months).
Your rights
You can:
- Access the data we have on you by emailing hello@futurologist.io.
- Delete your data by emailing the same address. We will remove your email from our list and delete associated form submissions within 30 days.
- Unsubscribe from emails at any time via the link in every issue.
- Opt out of analytics by using browser-level tools (e.g., browser tracking-protection settings, ad blockers).
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted data, email us and we'll delete it.
California residents (CCPA)
If you're a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise these rights, email hello@futurologist.io.
International users (GDPR)
Our servers are located in the United States. By using this site or subscribing to our newsletter, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the US. For EU/UK residents: you have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your data. Email us to exercise these rights.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services evolve. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes affecting subscribers, we'll notify you in the newsletter.
