SpaceX Drops $60B to Acquire Cursor...
Will Cursor be the tool for vibe coding Kings & Queens?
Hello my fellow Futurologist.
We’re both here because we’re done waiting for the future.
We want to create it.
Now onto today’s dose of High Agency Info…
This one hits home. Days after its blockbuster IPO, SpaceX (with xAI firepower) is buying Anysphere, the makers of Cursor… the AI code editor millions of devs already live in for $60 billion in stock. Deal expected to close Q3 2026.
Cursor isn't just another Copilot clone. It sparked "vibe coding," lets you toggle top models, and powers real agentic workflows. It crossed billions in annualized revenue and serves half of Fortune 500 engineering teams. SpaceX gets proven distribution, dev workflows, and data to supercharge Grok Build and agentic tools on Colossus compute.
Why it matters for the future-tech stack:
Vertical integration win: Rockets + satellites + models + the IDE where code for everything gets written. This closes the gap on Anthropic’s Claude Code and OpenAI’s Codex.
Agentic coding acceleration: Expect faster iteration on embodied AI, robotics, and autonomous systems.
Invisible systems shift: Dev tools are becoming the new OS for building the future. Owning the workflow = owning the talent and data flywheel.
For indie builders and investors: This validates AI coding as a massive, revenue-positive category. Watch for tighter integration with Grok, open opportunities in specialized agents, and hardened tools that don't lock you into one stack.
But on a personal note. I tried Cursor. I didn’t quite understand it.

So I picked back up using Ghostty.org. It’s pretty awesome, its a terminal that does everything for you once hooked up to Claude.
Im just now trying Grok Build in the terminal though. Seems promising.
Maybe I’ll give updates on how it turns out…
